AHS 405. Experiential Learning in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences. 3 hours.
Students pursue practical experiences in community and healthcare settings, applying knowledge gained through coursework, following service models used by the partner organization, and focusing on the needs of the people and communities served. Course Information: Field work required. In preparation for site engagement, all students will complete HIPAA training through UIC and a CPR certification course. Students will complete additional site-specific material review such as the “Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse: Training for Mandated Reporters” through DCFS as required by partner sites. These items will be done as part of the course curriculum. Prerequisite(s): Credit or concurrent registration in AHS 325. Open only to juniors and seniors; and consent of the instructor. Class Schedule Information: To be properly registered, students must enroll in one Practice and one Discussion.
