Provides an orientation to health information management practice via assignments and field work in affiliated institution’s health information management departments. Course Information: Extensive computer use required. Field work required. Meets eight weeks of the semester. Taught partially or fully online. Field work consists of six days of supervised experience in a healthcare organization. Prerequisite(s): Completion of 32 credit hours of HIM course work or approval of the BSHIM Program Director.
