MUS 120. Jazz Improvisation II. 3 hours.

Second course in a three-course sequence of the studying the techniques and methods of jazz improvisation. Course Information: Students outside of the Department of Music may enroll only with the permission of the department and non-music majors must pass theory/ear-training pre-test. Prerequisite(s): Grade of C or better in MUS 106 and Grade of C or better in MUS 102 and Grade of C or better in MUS 104 and Grade of C or better in MUS 171 and Grade of C or better in MUS 271. Corequisite(s): Concurrent registration required in MUS 150, MUS 159, MUS 160, MUS 201, and MUS 203. Recommended background: Previous performance in jazz big band or jazz combo.
