Minor in Linguistics
Requirements for the Minor
Students who wish to pursue the Minor in Linguistics must complete 18 semester hours, at least 9 of which must be at the 200 level or above. Courses used to complete the minor should comply with the following requirements:

A single course may only be counted toward one requirement. For example, LING 230 can be applied toward either the foundational selective requirement or the additional LING course requirement, but not both.

LING 496 may be applied towards these 9 hours; however, the course must be taken as a 3-semester-hour course, and it can only be applied once. A maximum of 6 hours of LING 300 and a maximum of 6 hours of LING 459 may count toward this requirement.
