COBG 601. Family Planning and Reproductive Health. 4 hours.
The Family Planning and Reproductive Health elective allows more in-depth training in sexual and reproductive health including discussion of pregnancy options counseling, management for pregnancy loss, complex contraception, and abortion care. Course Information: Field work required. Prerequisite(s): Completion of 3rd Year.
COBG 602. Urogynecology. 4 hours.
The Urogynecology elective allows students more in-depth training in the medical and surgical management of pelvic organ prolapse, urinary incontinence syndromes, and other pelvic floor and bladder dysfunction. Course Information: Field work required. Prerequisite(s): Completion of 3rd Year.
COBG 603. Maternal Fetal Medicine - AIMMC. 4 hours.
To understand clinically significant events in fetal development, in growth disturbance and physiologic adaptation to stress, and the development of maternal medical or obstetrical illness. Course Information: Field work required. Prerequisite(s): Completion of 3rd Year.
COBG 604. Maternal Fetal Medicine. 4 hours.
In this elective, the students are assigned to the antepartum service. This includes evaluation, presentation, and follow-up of hospitalized patients, participation in the high-risk outpatient evaluation and obstetrical ultrasound unit. COBG 605. Reproductive Endocrinology. 4 hours.
The senior medical student elective in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility will provide an opportunity to expand the student’s knowledge of reproductive physiology. Course Information: Field work required. Prerequisite(s): Completion of 3rd Year.
COBG 606. Gynecologic Oncology. 2-4 hours.
The student will act as the intern and be involved in all aspects of care for gynecologic oncology patients, accompanying the faculty to the operating room, conceptualizing pelvic anatomy, and altered anatomical field secondary to malignant disease. COBG 680. Gynecology Sub-Internship. 4 hours.
During this four-week sub-internship in Gynecology, students will gain the knowledge and skills to evaluate and manage various gynecologic conditions in many settings: inpatient, outpatient, emergency room, and operating room. Course Information: Field work required. Prerequisite(s): Completion of 3rd Year.
COBG 690. Away Rotation in Obstetrics/Gynecology. 1-15 hours.
An elective in Neurology taken outside the University of Illinois College of Medicine with prior approval. Course Information: May be repeated. Students may enroll in more than one section per term. Field work required. Prerequisite(s): Completion of 3rd Year.
COBG 694. Special Topics in Obstetrics/Gynecology. 1-15 hours.

Individualized elective in Neurology under the supervision of a faculty member or physician to fit students' interests or customized experiences with prior approval.
