RFCM 601. Family Medicine Clinical Experience. 2-4 hours.
This two or four-week clinical experience at a Family Medicine clinic will focus on diagnosis, development of a management plan and practice issues such as phone triage and practice management. Course Information: Field work required. Prerequisite(s): Completion of 3rd Year.
RFCM 602. Family Medicine Geriatric Care. 2 hours.
This 2-week Family and Community Medicine rotation is designed to provide students the opportunity to increase their knowledge of geriatric care in long-term care facilities, nursing homes and end-of-life programs in the Rockford area. Course Information: Field work required. Prerequisite(s): Completion of 3rd Year.
RFCM 603. Family Medicine Inpatient. 2-4 hours.
This two- or four-week experience will give students the opportunity shadow a family practice resident and supervising physician in the hospital setting. Course Information: Field work required. Prerequisite(s): Completion of 3rd Year.
RFCM 604. Longitudinal Family Medicine Clinic Part 1. 1 hour.
This longitudinal outpatient clinical elective will allow selected M4 students an immersive and guided experience in the education and outpatient clinical practice of Family Medicine. Course Information: Field work required. Prerequisite(s): Completion of 3rd Year.
RFCM 605. Longitudinal Family Medicine Clinic Part 2. 1 hour.
This longitudinal outpatient clinical elective will allow selected M4 students an immersive and guided experience in the education and outpatient clinical practice of Family Medicine. Course Information: Field work required. Prerequisite(s): Completion of 3rd Year.
RFCM 606. Headache Medicine. 2-4 hours.
This 2-4-week course will provide students with an opportunity to work alongside a headache specialty clinic in order to better understand the scope of diagnoses which lead to headache, therapeutic interventions available to treat headache, and the key history and physical exam findings associated with different headache presentations. This is an outpatient elective. Students will primarily work with Dr. Royce, but will also collaborate with the rest of the members of the practice and learn about interprofessional care of patients with headache. RFCM 660. Correctional Medicine. 2 hours.
RFCM 680. Family Medicine Sub-Internship. 4 hours.
The overarching goal of this Sub-I is for the student to develop the appropriate skills to be ready for the transition to residency. Course Information: Field work required. Prerequisite(s): Completion of 3rd Year.
RFCM 690. Away Rotation in Family & Community Medicine. 1-15 hours.
An elective in Family & Community Medicine taken outside the University of Illinois College of Medicine with prior approval. Course Information: May be repeated. Students may enroll in more than one section per term. Field work required. Prerequisite(s): Completion of 3rd Year.

RFCM 696. Individualized Elective in Family & Community Medicine. 1-15 hours.
Individualized elective in Family & Community Medicine under the supervision of a faculty member or physician to fit students' interests or customized experiences with prior approval.
