CORT 601. Fundamentals of Orthopaedics. 2 hours.

Students will be exposed to Orthopedics, be able to perform a physical examination of the musculoskeletal system, and have knowledge of principles and normal and abnormal findings of the various imaging modalities of the musculoskeletal system. Course Information: Field work required. Prerequisite(s): Completion of 2nd Year.

CORT 602. Orthopaedics. 4 hours.

The elective is for students to further develop the arts and skills involved in performing a history and physical on the patient, specifically referring to musculoskeletal problems and trauma. Further understanding of common problems will be gained. Course Information: Field work required. Prerequisite(s): Completion of 3rd Year.

CORT 603. Sports Medicine. 4 hours.

This sports medicine experience allows the student to participate in the care of athletes from an orthopedic perspective, physical medicine and rehabilitation perspective, nutrition perspective, radiology, and psychology perspective. Course Information: Field work required. Prerequisite(s): Completion of 3rd Year.

CORT 690. Away Rotation in Orthopaedics. 1-15 hours.

An elective in Orthopaedics taken outside the University of Illinois College of Medicine with prior approval. Course Information: May be repeated. Students may enroll in more than one section per term. Field work required. Prerequisite(s): Completion of 3rd Year.

CORT 694. Special Topics in Orthopaedics. 1-15 hours.

Special or new topics in Orthopaedics. Course Information: May be repeated. Students may enroll in more than one section per term. Field work required. Prerequisite(s): Completion of 3rd Year.

CORT 696. Individualized Elective in Orthopaedics. 1-15 hours.

Individualized elective in Orthopaedics under the supervision of a faculty member or physician to fit students' interests or customized experiences with prior approval. Course Information: May be repeated. Students may enroll in more than one section per term. Field work required. Prerequisite(s): Completion of 2nd Year.

CORT 697. Research Elective in Orthopaedics. 1-15 hours.

Student-proposed research under a faculty member in Orthopaedics; available with prior approval. Course Information: May be repeated. Students may enroll in more than one section per term. Field work required. Prerequisite(s): Completion of 2nd Year.
