CPAT 660. Clinical Pathology/Laboratory Medicine. 4 hours.

This elective introduces the students to the various sections of the clinical laboratory. This experience aims to gain basic knowledge of laboratory organization, workflow, specimen adequacy, testing methodology, and test interpretation. Course Information: Field work required. Prerequisite(s): Completion of 3rd Year.

CPAT 661. Surgical Pathology. 2-4 hours.

Students in this rotation in the anatomic and clinical pathology laboratories. This includes a variety of gross anatomic pathology, microscopic pathology, occasional autopsy cases, and many of the cases encountered in frozen section laboratory. Course Information: Field work required. Prerequisite(s): Completion of 3rd Year.

CPAT 690. Away Rotation in Pathology. 1-15 hours.

An elective in Pathology taken outside the University of Illinois College of Medicine with prior approval. Course Information: May be repeated. Students may enroll in more than one section per term. Field work required. Prerequisite(s): Completion of 3rd Year.

CPAT 694. Special Topics in Pathology. 1-15 hours.

Special or new topics in Pathology. Course Information: May be repeated. Students may enroll in more than one section per term. Field work required. Prerequisite(s): Completion of 3rd Year.

CPAT 696. Individualized Elective in Pathology. 1-15 hours.

Individualized elective in Pathology under the supervision of a faculty member or physician to fit students' interests or customized experiences with prior approval.
