RHSE 601. Facets of Care in the Critical Access/Community Hospital. 2 hours.

An extended experience providing ambulatory and hospital care in a rural critical access/community hospital setting with fewer resources than the typical tertiary medical center where their prerequisite clerkship was completed. RHSE 660. Artificial (Augmented) Intelligence in Medicine. 4 hours.

Technological advancement, particularly in Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology, is disrupting many societal infrastructures including the healthcare system. Course Information: Field work required. Prerequisite(s): Completion of 3rd Year.

RHSE 661. DoCS (Doctoring and Clinical Skills Course) Mentoring. 1 hour.

The purpose of the elective is to provide M4s with the opportunity to teach, facilitate small groups, and provide written and oral feedback to Phase 1 students. Course Information: Field work required. Prerequisite(s): Completion of 3rd Year.

RHSE 663. Emerging Infectious Diseases & Pandemic Planning. 2-4 hours.

This 2- to 4-week online course will provide students with an instruction on the COVID-19 pandemic and compares it to yearly influenza outbreaks. Course Information: Field work required. Prerequisite(s): Completion of 3rd Year.

RHSE 664. Genes, Drugs & Practical Application in Medicine. 4 hours.

Prepare healthcare students to have adequate foundational knowledge about pharmacogenomics and its application to individualized patient care. Course Information: Field work required. Prerequisite(s): Completion of 3rd Year.

RHSE 665. Wikipedia for The Medical Editor. 4 hours.

This course will be offered to third- and fourth-year medical students to enhance their communication skills as it pertains to explaining complex medical conditions, treatments, and healthcare systems to non-medically trained individuals.
